Christina Valiant, VMD
Veterinary Medical Doctor
Dr. Valiant grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. From there, she went on to complete a rotating small animal internship at the VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in 2005.
Luckily for us, this internship also sparked two new discoveries: her love of New England and a passion for veterinary emergency medicine. She decided to put down roots here and has been a mainstay of the Massachusetts veterinary ER community. Her path has taken her to VESCONE (now Blue Pearl) as well as Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital, Bulger Veterinary Hospital, and Mass Vet Referral Hospital).
Outside of work, Dr. Valiant loves spending time with her husband and three kids, and a small menagerie of animals including 1 dog, 2 cats, and a rotating cast of chickens. She enjoys gardening, yoga, listening to most any kind of music, and summer beach visits!
Darryn Remillard, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Remillard is an enlisted Marine Corps veteran (2000-2008) and served in Iraq in 2005. He graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in 2007 with his B.S. in Business Management and, after completing his active duty service, attended Brandeis University and completed a graduate certificate in pre-health sciences.
He attended Tufts University for veterinary school and graduated in 2015. Since that time he has worked primarily in feline exclusive practices in MA and NH as well as providing at-home end-of-life care for cats, dogs and exotic pets.
When he’s not working, he and his wife are busy chasing after three daughters, 4 cats, 6 chickens and 2 ducks!
Nathan DeCosmo, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Nathan DeCosmo was born and raised in Derry, NH. He graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicineclass of 2021 in Tennessee. His passion for animals started at an early age. He graduated from Becker College in 2017 where he earned both an Associate’s and Bachelor’s of Science in Veterinary Science and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of NH. His special interests include radiology, pain management and wound care.
Dr. DeCosmo has strong belief in teamwork and communication to help compassionately treat all animals as if they were his own! He lives in Manchester NH with his girlfriend and fur family which includes 4 dogs (Reina, Lilah, Fin and Grimm), and 2 cats (Peach and Ming).
When he is not at work Dr. DeCosmo enjoys going camping, fishing, hiking or just hanging with friends and family.
Emma
Veterinary Technician
Emma grew up in South Portland and has returned after spending a couple of years in North Carolina, where she graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
An equal opportunity animal lover, Emma has two cats, a dog, and a couple of rats at home. Augie is the mature feline who keeps the other pets in check; her other feline friend Rutabaga prowls the house on secret missions only she understands. Her dog Rosie followed Emma home from a breakfast taco shop one morning, and her two rats Edward and Rumples stay busy running cardboard mazes that Emma creates for them.
When she’s not working or caring for her family of animals, Emma enjoys seeing live music, making macaroni and cheese, reading, and going on outdoor adventures with Rosie.
Angelika Demers, CVT
Clinical Supervisor
Angelika started her animal health career in 2014 when she attended the University of Maine Augusta, Bangor campus, for Veterinary Technology. She graduated in early 2018 and became a Certified Veterinary Technician later that year. Her internship, and first veterinary field job, was at the MSPCA Angell in Boston, where she discovered her interest in emergency medicine. Throughout the years, she has continued to advance her knowledge in the field of emergency medicine, but also in cultivating relationships with patients and clients alike to offer the best quality care. Outside of work she likes hanging out with her cat, Mew, spending time outdoors, watching game shows, and photography.
We're thrilled to announce that we will be extending our hours to better meet the needs of you and your pets!
Beginning May 6th, we will be open Monday-Friday 10 am - 8 pm and weekends from 10 am - 7 pm.
