Size matters
Ready or Not stands out from other games in a way no other game has for the last decade. This ultimate spec. ops experience takes realism to a whole new level as you engage bad guys, take on firefights, and make your way through the map.
Often, you will find yourself maneuvering in tight spots and cramped locations. This is why the length of your gun matters. If you have a long weapon, such as the SA-58 assault rifle, for example, you will be unable to move quickly enough and will be quite literally trapped in tight spots. In this game, this can be the difference between life and death situations.
How agile you are often determines how effective you are in completing the missions’ objectives.
Firepower
Another aspect to consider in Ready or Not is finding the ideal balance between maneuverability and penetrating power. Lower-tier criminals will not have any armor whatsoever 99% of the time. This makes pistol calibers more than adequate in dealing with these threats.
More dangerous criminals, on the other hand, will have significant body armor bonuses making pistol-caliber weapons very inefficient in dealing with these threats. This goes to show that finding the ideal balance between penetrating power (caliber used) and maneuverability is the key to your success in Ready or Not.
Weapons to Use – Lower Tier Criminals
G36E Carbine
One of the best options when it comes to firepower and maneuverability is the G36E carbine version of the G36 assault rifle. With decent penetration and agility, this gun easily ranks in the S tier making it more than adequate for most missions.
Mk18
The Mk18 often referred to as the Close Quarters Battle Receiver is another good choice when entering cramped spaces and tight spots. It has decent penetration and will certainly get the job done!
F90 Bullpup Rifle
Lastly, the F90 Bullpup Rifle is a good choice for those who like delivering killing blows as quickly as possible. That said, this does take away from its overall agility creating a significant trade-off when considering whether to use it or not.
Weapons to Use – Armored Enemies
SA-58 Assault Rifle
The SA-58 Assault Rifle is one of the best rifles you can choose when going up against well-trained, armored opponents. What they lack in maneuverability, they make up with penetrating power.
KAC SR-16
Developed by Knight’s Armament Company, the SR-16 is a carbine capable of delivering killing blows with maximum accuracy. It uses 5.56x45mm NATO cartridges making it a formidable opponent in firefights.

Attachments/Slots/Armor/Ammo
Sights/Scopes/Optics
When it comes to the attachments, especially optics, these are considered to be down to personal preference. Generally speaking, the ones you feel most comfortable with are the way to go.
Accessory Slot
Coming to one of the most important items when it comes to attachments is your accessory slot. Most players will attach a flashlight here and bind the on/off function to their mouse. This allows them to quickly toggle the light on and off making use of extra visibility.
Do note that if you are dealing with a nighttime mission, you can switch to an infrared laser.
Shield-Pistol Ammo Correlation
When opting to use a shield, it would be wise and highly recommended to bring as much pistol ammo as you can due to the pistol being your primary weapon in this situation. Most of the time you will sacrifice pistol ammo for more assault rifles, submachine guns, etc. ammo. However, this is not the case when using a shield.
Headgear
Depending on the type of mission you are taking on and the approach you want to carry out, headgear is another important aspect to consider. Guns blazing, you want as much armor as you can get. This includes ballistic masks capable of protecting you against small-arms fire.
If you are doing missions in the dark, night vision is what you want to equip.
Another option you have is the gas mask. Gas masks are effective when you want to incapacitate your enemies without killing them. For example, tear gas.
Body Armor
Body armor is another trade-off that you need to carefully consider when choosing. While it protects your body from most weapons, it will also slow you down. A higher armor rating means you will be much slower than usual. The 3 materials you can choose from are Kevlar, Steel, and Ceramic. With Kevlar being the lightest and Steel the heaviest armor.
Ammo
Hollow point ammo is, as you might have guessed by now, best suited for unarmored criminals. While heavier equipment criminals are best engaged with armor-piercing rounds.
Lastly, it is important to note that there is no right or wrong loadout when taking on missions (except if you bring hollow points against armored criminals, in which case you should delete the game).
Your loadout depends almost entirely on your specific playstyle, mission objective, enemies, and map. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all of these aspects before engaging on a mission.
